Bringing student housing to the forefront of technology
By Mariya Nesheva
Latititude 38 Group is excited to announce that our new location – 250 Kearny will be opening later this summer.
This project was designed to create a very student friendly environment and ensure safe, comfortable and quality living for young people coming to the city for short or long term stays. The building has been completely renovated, with a large lobby, 24-hour front desk, common area social rooms, community kitchen and laundry facilities. The rooms have hard wood floors, modern furniture and private bathrooms.
Latitude 38 is also going one step further and addressing a need that has been known for some time – technology. Students are the heaviest users of the Internet, today they often live at home with a Laptop, I-pad, TV, I-phone and a PlayStation. According to a NAA Student Housing study, 41 percent of students typically have three or more devices simultaneously connected to the Internet in their apartments. It is a fact that, many students would move out or tell others not to move in a property because the Internet is not fast enough! Surprisingly, other student housing providers have neglected tech services and amenities so far.
In order to address this issue, the whole electrical system in 250 Kearny has been changed and the high bandwidth speed will support 3-4 devices in every room at the same time. All rooms are wired with cable Internet and there is there is a Wi-Fi network throughout the building.
Moreover, we are partnering with a company that will install a 40” monitor screen with a community board in the lobby. Students will be able to search for events, read useful information about the city and share their own original content.
Realizing that young people spend a large proportion of their time on the Internet, our team has been very engaged in social media and digital marketing. We keep in touch with our clients and student community through Facebook, Twitter and our blog.

SUMMER IN THE CITY BY THE BAY

Crêpelicious!!!
By Mariya Nesheva
Those of you that read our blog have probably noticed by now that all of us at Latitude 38 are food lovers.
Our latest discovery is Crêperie Saint-Germain - originating from French street food roots, this place offers fresh, healthy crêpes made to order at each of its locations. Savory or sweet, the crepes are not only irresistibly delicious but also very healthy – gluten free and made with organic ingredients.
The secret is using the classic French ingredient of buckwheat - a highly energizing and nutritious fruit seed that provides delicious taste while keeping the texture light and easily digestible.
Z (Zeynen) - the owner and the brainchild behind the business and the recipe, opened the first crêperie in 2009 and is now operating four city locations.
Thanks to Z, Latitude 38 clients can now enjoy a 15% off at Crêperie Saint-Germain Express at 2nd & Howard.
Grab a tasty crêpe and feel the extension of French culture and lifestyle in San Francisco!
PS: My favorite savory one is #10 and #21 with nutella, banana and strawberries is a sweet temptation one cannot resist!

Only in San Francisco
By: Juan
There I was again, walking the crazy streets of San Francisco in the middle of the night. In just a 40 minute walk I saw a guy threatening to sue a bus (not the bus company, the actual bus), a guy in a parrot suit hugging people in the street and a guy with an actual parrot on his shoulder. A merry band of zombies celebrating that two of them had gotten married and a street drummer whose drumsticks were on fire (that one was actually pretty cool).
I guess that the point I’m trying to make (I’m not even sure there’s a point to all of this) is that this city has never stopped surprising me. I have been here for over nine months and I’m still surprised by all the things I see on a daily basis. San Francisco is one of those cities that can’t be defined; you have to experience it by yourself, everyone sees the city in a different way.
Trying to describe what makes this city special would be like trying to explain how the color red looks like to a blind person. More than a city, San Francisco is an experience. The people that live here are not bound by social conventions; they can be or do whatever they want. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, you can always be yourself here.
You know how people always tell you that you should never judge a person by first impressions? I think the same is true of cities. The more time I spent here the more convinced I am that I will never be able to figure out this city and the people that live in it. And that’s the reason why I love San Francisco.
The Mistery that is San Francisco
By: Juan
I have come to the conclusion that I don’t know anything about the city I live in.
This realization came to me this weekend. Life has shown me many times before that too much stuff in my head and a lot of free time make for a terrible combination that almost always ends up with me in a bad mood. Since this weekend seemed to be one of those not too rare occasions I decided that the best thing for me would be to get out of my apartment and start walking. I had no idea where I was going, I just needed to be away from everything.
As luck would have it, I ended up in a beach (don’t ask which one because I have no idea) but it was amazing. I decided to keep walking and somehow got myself in a pretty big park with lots to see and do. I realized something, something that has changed the way I look at things. The good thing about being lost is that you’re free to go wherever you want to. Nothing is stopping you.
San Francisco is an amazing city, no two blocks are alike. You can walk for half an hour and you’ll see so many different things, so many different people that live and love this city. That vibe is contagious, you can’t avoid it.
There are so many things to do and see here that it is very possible that I may not be able to do and see them all. But I will try, you can be sure of that.
